‘The Pope’s Exorcist’ follows the story of Italian priest Gabriele Amorth, who upon being tasked with the exorcism of a young boy, discovers that the demon’s real motive is to possess the priest himself. Through the cycle of guilt, shame, and secrecy, the demon is able to take hold of him as well as another priest, and it is only the confession of their deepest sins that breaks them from the demon’s power.
